"Island hopping the Abacos aboard our gorgeous yacht was a truly unforgettable week!" -Lex McKinney (Nassau, Bahamas)
Making Memories.
The most important factor we consider when designing a sailing adventure is crew satisfaction. We gauge your interests and tailor each trip to the type of experience you dream of having. Our local knowledge is invaluable when deciding which routes to take and islands to visit, and we put your comfort first. This will be a vacation unlike any you've ever taken before.
Explore the World of Sailing
We welcome non-sailors into the seafaring world, and encourage you to learn about sailing, the ocean, and the communities we visit along our journey. Our expert skipper can teach you everything you want to know about sailing, and even allow you to take command of the boat if you'd like. Or, simply open up a good book on the bow, sip on a fresh margarita, and let us handle the vessel. No previous sailing experience is required to take an adventure with us - simply a desire to explore the islands via the sea and challenge the status quo of typical vacations.
Sailing clubs, college sailing programs, and individual sailors - talk to us about special pricing for your program, or a reduced rate for assistance as first mate aboard a trip.

"I was so pumped to take the wheel and steer! [Our Captain] showed us everything from raising and trimming the sails to setting the anchor properly. He even made me first mate. Couldn't have asked for a more fun experience." -Cam Maring (Eastern Washington University)
The Crew
In our previous adventures, we've learned that a coed, mixed crew with a wide variety of interesting backgrounds makes for the most unforgettable trips. We encourage individuals to join on a trip, even if you only know one or two others on the boat before you depart - we promise you'll all be best friends before the end of the week.
Typically, our crew is composed of 18 - 30 year olds who share a common yearning for novelty and thrill, value individualism and uniqueness, and are sincerely ecstatic to try new things. That's not to say groups of 4 or more friends can't book a trip, but we like to fill the boat to max capacity (8 persons) to keep costs low and amusement high.

Our Yacht
We don't like to compromise on style, safety, functionality, performance, or comfort when it comes to our yacht. A great boat sets the stage for a great vacation, and the Moorings 41.3 is no exception. Built by renowned yacht builder, Beneteau Yachts, and boasting impressive modern amenities such as a fully-battened mainsail and roller-furling genoa, electric windlass, chartplotter, autopilot, stereo, full galley with fridge and stove, luxurious salon, three cabins, two showers, dual steering pedestals, and lazy-jacks, the 41.3 is a breeze to sail and most certainly a performance-oriented cruising yacht. At 40 ft long, she can cozily sleep 8 passengers, although you might want to hang your hammock on deck and feel the breeze during the warm tropical nights.
Our yacht is impeccably maintained and exceeds all required safety standards, and we think you'll be blown away by her generous layout, spacious cabin, and comfortable cruising capabilities. For more detailed specs, see the information PDF below: |

Cost
Since we encourage you to customize your sailing adventure, the cost will vary with each trip. Depending on the add-ons you may choose, duration of your trip, amount of food/drinks, and whether you prefer to dock or anchor out each night your trip cost will vary.
In the past, we've been able to run 6 days / 7 nights of sailing, including a hotel for our first night and a plethora of add-ons/toys for around $750 - 850 per person. This price factors in food, dockage, yacht rental, airport transportation, the hotel, and a few other surprises. Compared to other companies offering sailing charters, you'll find that Windswept Adventures averages $900 - $1400 less per person than our competitors charge for a similar trip!
We have a very strong relationship with local yacht charter companies, and partner with them to reduce our charter costs to 25-30% of the normal rate. In part, yacht charter companies gain positive press from our community-engagement projects, but we also bring a valuable asset to the industry - young people.
What's not included is your flight - since everybody comes from different airports and uses various frequent flier plans. Also not included is the cost of hiring a skipper. Your skipper, Vinny, strongly believes in keeping these trips budget-friendly, so you won't see him charge $270-300 per day like other sailing charter companies. Buy him a drink as a thank you.

What is Included?
We like to go above and beyond, and have no doubt we'll exceed your expectations with what's included in your sailing adventure.
To start things off, every passenger gets a snorkel mask/fin set and margarita on arrival, and we have spears and fishing gear for catching dinner too. Also, a bit of local knowledge allows us access to some prime lobster traps (when in season). We carry a double kayak and paddleboard with us too, exploring the more shallow and hard to reach nooks and crannies of the islands. Our charter also includes an outboard dinghy, grill, full kitchen set, all the towels/linens/pillows we need, toiletries, and endless opportunity for exploration. In addition, your total cost includes ALL your food for the week, and some drinks too. We also build in the cost of a hotel room the night before our trip begins, so we can shove off in the morning with a fresh, jetlag-free start. We'll take care of your taxi to/from the airport too, just to make life easier. All dock and anchor fees are included in your cost as well, and your skipper will host a pre-departure themed party just as an added bonus. |
Local Community Engagement
We recognize that our extraordinary vacations are only possible because of the fantastic island communities which treat sailors so well. The generosity, acceptance, and warmth of local people has inspired Windswept Adventures to keep returning, and energizes us to give back however we can. We go out of our way to buy local food and souvenirs, give business to grassroots organizations, and importantly, stimulate and encourage education. We are proud to announce a partnership with The Hope Town Primary School and Every Child Counts Abaco, and deliver shipments of books / school supplies to these wonderful organizations with our yacht charter company, The Moorings.
As crew aboard our trips, we provide a discount off your total cost if you gather education materials for donation to these local schools. Children's books, pencils, crayons, coloring books, construction paper, scissors, tape, rulers, etc are all greatly in need at these island schools, and Windswept helps make a difference in the lives of local kids by bringing materials in our luggage with each trip. To date, we've donated over 120 lbs of books/school supplies - we're hoping to triple that this Holiday Season with your help.

"We were delighted to find so many books waiting for us at school - thank you so much. The kids said it felt like Christmas!" -Principal Justin Higgs, Hope Town Primary School
Donating to the community also importantly allows you to have an exponentially more intimate experience with the islands during your vacation. Locals love and recognize us, and continue to go out of their way to show an insider's perspective into island secrets and more stunning destinations. Like we said before, this isn't your typical vacation.
